Soniah: Lost In A Crowd

In ''God Lives in St. Petersburg,'' Bissell reveals himself to be not only a subtle craftsman but also a mordant observer of a new generation lost in a complex and dangerous world, says Pankaj Mishra in his review of Tom Bissell's short story collection God Lives in St. Petersburg.
The American dream is very much one of fitting in, suburbia is the outfit and one which most people zip themselves into quickly and efficiently. The American nightmare then is the reverse. Bissell's stories are about nightmares lived out.

Soniah: Moving

I've just moved from sunny California to a snow storm in New Jersey. Outside the hotel window browned limbed trees rise like candles from a mutli layered cake of snow. I'm not a big snow fan. I prefer sunshine bounding upon large bodies of water. Falling snow from outside this window is, however, fantastically gorgeoous. Or ugly, if you have no window to look out from, no fireplace to warm your toes at.

Soniah: Mecca Cola

I'd like to see the world for once all standing hand in hand and hear them echo through the hills for peace throughout the land.
Does anyone remember this song used with altered lyrics in a coca cola advertisement?
Peace = buying power = image
Wonder what song Mecca Cola will use?
There's also Salaam Cola doing the rounds.
I think the Cola Wars and Peace should make for a very interesting short story, or thread in a novel.
